Third Trimester of Pregnancy - You are closing in to the labor, time to relax and stock up on energy


Week 29

The last stretch of this marathon called pregnancy. Your baby's muscles and lungs are maturing, and the head is growing to make room for the developing brain. Baby's size: Butternut squash. Weight: about 1,2 kg.

Week 30

As you are getting bigger you might not be able to work out in the same way you did in the second trimester, nad it's important to listen to your body. Swimming and walking are mild activities, great for pregnant women. Baby's size: Papaya. Weight: about 1,3 kg.

Week 31

Your baby's strong kicks might be keeping you up at night – and you may be feeling Braxton Hicks contractions, too. Baby's size:Weight: Coconut. about 1,5 kg.

Week 32

Your baby is plumping up, and the skin is becoming soft and smooth in preparation for birth. You might be feeling heavy and get swollen feet. Take all the naps you need, and relax as much as you want. Remember; you are never doing nothing, especially when you are pregnant. Baby's size: Kale. Weight: about 1,7 kg.

Week 33

Your expanding uterus may cause heartburn and shortness of breath. Take it easy and avoid fatty and spicy food. Baby's size: Pineapple. Weight: about 1,9 kg.

Week 34

It's a relief to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. You are closing in to the labor, time to relax and stock up on energy. Be nice to yourself. Baby's size: Cantaloupe melon. Weight: about 2,1 kg.

Week 35

Time to get ready. Have a look at the list of things to buy for the baby, and pack your hospital bag. Baby's size: Honeydew melon.Weight: about 2,4 kg.

Week 36

Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day now, which is good, and makes the baby ready to come out in the world. Baby's size: Romaine lettuce. Weight: about 2,6 kg.

Week 37

Now the baby can decide to arrive at any time, and it will not be considered premature from this week. Baby's size: About as long as a stalk of Swiss chard. Weight: about 2,9 kg.

Week 38

Get the house or appartment ready, and get rested. This might be a nice time to have a friend over for girltalk and go out on a date with your partner, just the two of you. Enjoy your sleep and alone-time, which you will have little of after the baby comes. Baby's size: Leek. Weight: about 3 kg.

Week 39

The baby is now full-term and ready. While you're waiting, it's important to continue to pay attention to your baby's movements, and if you think the baby is not moving you should contact your health provider right away, don't wait. A slowdown in activity could be a sign of a problem. Baby's size: Small pumpkin. Weight: about 3,3 kg

Week 40-41

If this is your first baby, you might go overtime. You can ask your own mother about her experience with childbirth, chances are you will have a similar experience. Baby's weight: about 3,5 kg.
